Qatar hosted international sporting events during the year 2019, which were a successful test of its ability and preparation for the most important sporting event, the FIFA World Cup 2022.

The test was not only on the level of organization, but on several levels, on top of which were accommodation, transportation, security and reception.

Qatar surpassed those tests in more than one regional and international championship held on its soil during the year 2019.

"Every match or tournament held in the country represents a preparation station on our way to the 2022 World Cup," said Nasser Al-Khater, CEO of the World Cup (Qatar 2020).

The most prominent regional event for Qatar is to host the Gulf Cup (Khaleeji 24) between November 26 and December 8.

The tournament received wide attention after the participation of all the Gulf teams, and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, crowned the Bahraini team with the Gulf Cup title after defeating its Saudi counterpart with a goal without a response in the final match of the tournament.

clubs World Cup
Qatar concluded in 2019 by hosting the Club World Cup championship from December 11 to 21.
