The Jordan Football Association and its Iraqi counterpart announced their plans to submit a joint file to host the Asian Nations Football Cup in 2027.

The federation told Jordan via his Twitter account that hosting the continental championship is a "great pride" for the two federations.

Iraqi media quoted the head of the local federation, Abdul Khaleq Masoud, as confirming the joint hosting project.

Hosting the Asian Cup is a great pride for the Jordanian and Iraqi football federations .. We are studying and looking forward to work and joint cooperation with the brothers in Iraq to present a joint file that guarantees the organization and hosting of the 2027 edition of the continental championship

The UAE hosted the last edition of the Asian Cup earlier this year and crowned the Qatari team, and will hold the next championship in China during the year 2023.

Jordan hosted a number of sports tournaments recently, the most prominent of which was the Women's World Cup in 2016, while Iraq recently regained the right to host the matches of its team after many years of embargo, and will be on a date with the hosting of the Gulf Cup in 2021.
