The Secretary-General of the Swimming Federation, Director of the World Championship 2020, Abdullah Al-Wahaibi, confirmed that Abu Dhabi Sports Council launched the "Future Champions" project to equip the swimming team to participate in the World Swimming Championship (Abu Dhabi 2020), which will be held next December, and indicated that the committee that In cooperation with the Swimming Federation, it will manage the project that will start on January 2.

Al-Wehaibi told Emirates Today: “The technical manager, Australian John States, was contracted as technical director of the project, alongside the presence of a member of the Swimming Federation Board of Directors, head of the technical committee of the 2020 World Championship, Abdullah Al-Zahmi, Amr Badawi, technical and administrative coordinator, and Obaid Al Jasmi as director, Ahmed Al Ghaitani, the swimming coach, and Saleh Al Qubaisi and Abdullah Al Kaabi are coaches.

He added: «The project aims to equip a number of swimmers and swimmers, and to show itself well during the tournament hosted by Abu Dhabi, where the Abu Dhabi Sports Council adopted all the details of the project and its financial support, in a step aimed at building a team ready to participate, in cooperation with the Swimming Federation» .
