Only ten months was enough to write a history of gold for Algerian Jamal Belmadi in the world of training after he led his country to win the African Nations Cup in one of the most difficult and most exciting tournaments, to impose himself among the best coaches in the world.

Belmadi led the "Desert Warriors" to win during the edition that Egypt hosted in the middle of this year, to be only the second for the Algerian national team in the history of the championship, and the first "green" outside the stadium, where the team crowned its only previous title in the tournament when his country hosted the 1990 edition.

With his victory with the Greens in the continental title this year, he proved practically past that he was "special and Algerian" in the African and African football, as he achieved success in every training station for him, the same thing that deserved the Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, the current Spurs coach, before he succeeded in success recently.

Belmadi’s leadership of the Algerian national team was one of the most important milestones in his coaching career, although he is still 43 years old.

Despite the presence of many prominent stars among the Algerian national team, the team failed to reach the 2018 World Cup in Russia under the leadership of coach Rabeh Madjer, the Algerian football legend.

The instability in the technical management of the team may have been the main reason behind the sharp decline in the level of the team over the years that followed its qualification for the second round of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil under the leadership of its former Bosnian technical director Wahid Khalilzic.

Therefore, the Algerian federation for the game was required, after Madjer left, to lead the team by hiring a coach who is more realistic, enthusiastic, and more interested in practicality than seeking a coach from the leading names in European football.

Indeed, Belmadi was chosen to assume responsibility based on the good reputation he achieved during his previous training career, which was all with Qatari football.

Perhaps the confinement of his previous experiences to the Qatari ball only was the reason behind some of the criticisms that he received at the beginning of taking over the Algerian national team, in addition to his young age.

But Belmadi practically responded to all these criticisms, and he assured beyond any doubt that he was the most suitable choice after playing the main role in the Greens' victory in the African title in Cairo, despite the strong competition and difficult confrontation with the Senegalese team twice in the tournament (the first round and the final match).

Belmadi has presented the Algerian team what he has missed in the past few years since Khalilodzic left the team's training, which is enthusiasm, persistence and the desire to prove himself.

The truth is that Belmadi did not enjoy the same degree of achievements during his career as a player with the Algerian national team, as he played only twenty games with the team in the period from 2000 to 2004, but during ten months he presented to the coach of the team what made history in his name with the Greens.

It was the kick-off in Balamadi’s training career through the Qatari Lekhwiya team in 2010 and led the team to the Qatari league title in two consecutive seasons to transfer at the end of 2013 to the leadership of the second team for Qatar, and led him to win the 2014 Asian Nations Cup in Qatar before being assigned a training mission The first team in March 2014.

And before the end of the same year, Balmadi led the team to win the Gulf Cup (Gulf Cup 22) title in Saudi Arabia by defeating the Saudi national team in their own home in the final match.

However, the team's exit from the first round of the Asian Cup hosted by Australia in early 2015 ousted the Algerian coach from leading the team, after which he returned to training his former team, Lekhwia, whose name changed to Al-Duhail after merging Lekhwia and the army into one team.

Al-Duhail's past led him to win the Qatar League title for two consecutive seasons, in addition to two titles in the Emir of Qatar Cup and one title in the Qatar Cup.

Under the leadership of Belmadi, the Algerian team achieved 13 wins and three draws in 16 games in 2019, to be an exceptional year in its coaching career.
