After six months during which he was crowned with three titles - including the Champions League title - Liverpool are looking forward to achieving a positive result in a match that may play a prominent role in settling a new title when he is a guest of Leicester City on Thursday in the 19th round of the English Premier League.

The stage competitions are held in conjunction with the celebrations of opening Christmas gift boxes (Boxing Day), and Liverpool is looking forward to celebrating by winning against Leicester, to consolidate its position in the top of the league and make a big step towards the Premier League title absent since 1990.

The children of German coach Juergen Klopp are top of the league with 49 points, ten points behind second-placed Leicester City, and the difference will be widened to 13 points in case of winning tomorrow's match, and Liverpool is left with a deferred match.

Behind Leicester, Manchester City is third with 38 points, followed by Chelsea in fourth place with 32 points.

It is noteworthy that this is the fourth year in which Liverpool occupies the top of the league during the Christmas celebration period, but it has failed in the past three times to continue the path towards the podium.

But the matter may appear different during this season, as the Reds did not receive any defeat during 34 league games with the calculation of last season's matches, and it achieved 16 victories in 17 games played in the competition so far this season.

Liverpool has tremendous confidence at the present time, especially after it was crowned last Saturday for the first time in its history the Club World Cup, by defeating Brazilian Flamingo with a clean goal in the final match of the tournament hosted by Qatar.

Despite this, Klopp refused to turn around to talk about the title, but intensified his focus on the mission against Leicester City, which provided tremendous levels during the first half of the season under the leadership of Brendan Rodgers, the former coach of the team.

This is the fifth time that the two teams have met in "Boxing Day", and Liverpool have won three of the past four times, while Leicester City won the other confrontation at Anfield in 1984.

Klopp announced on Tuesday evening that Liverpool will miss the efforts of Alex Oxlide Chamberlain in the Leicester City match, as well as the next match against Wolverhampton next Sunday, due to an ankle ligament injury, but Giorgenio Vinaldom will be fit to participate in the midfield.

"To pass a season (successfully) you need luck at these times ... until now we have been able to find solutions," Klopp said.

Man City is awaiting the confrontation in the hope of Liverpool being exposed to a cup, where the title holder can benefit from his match against Wolverhampton next Friday evening, as well as the next match against Sheffield United.

Besides the conflict at the summit, the performance of Arsenal and Everton will also be under the leadership of their new coaches, Miquel Arteta and Carlo Ancelotti, respectively.
