There will be a taste of the 80s, Saturday December 21 in Doha, for the final of the Club World Cup. A Liverpool - Flamengo, like in the final of the Intercontinental Cup in 1981. The Reds of Mohamed Salah will face Gabriel Barbosa and his team-mates for a title of world champion, as the teams of Phil Thompson and the legendary Zico opposed an intercontinental title.

Besides, Flamengo will be looking for a second world title after defeating Liverpool (3-0) almost forty years ago. The Reds, meanwhile, will aim for their first trophy of its kind after three failures in the final (in 1981, 1984 and 2005).

Before this poster, Liverpool eliminated, on Wednesday, the Mexicans of Monterrey (2-1) in the semi-final of the Club World Cup. Naby Keïta (12th) and Roberto Firmino (90th + 1) allowed the Reds to win against a team from Monterrey, led by Argentinian Rogelio Funes Mori, opportunistic scorer in the first period (14th).

Previously, Flamengo won Tuesday against Al-Hilal (3-1) in the other semi-final of the competition, with three goals scored in the second half (49th, 78th 82nd), after the opening of the Saudi score in the first period (18th).

The FIFA Club World Cup, or Club World Cup, brings together the continental champion clubs of the six football confederations each year: the winner of the Champions League (Europe), the Copa Libertadores (South America), the CAF Champions League (Africa), the AFC Champions League (Asia), the Concacaf Champions League (North, Central America and the Caribbean) and the Champions League OFC (Oceania).
