Malmö came from a tough period and had five straight losses before the national break. HV71, on the other hand, had won three of its last four matches and went to extend the Scania's dark suite at home in Kinnarps arena.

That was not the case.

After two scoreless periods, it loosened for Malmö in the third, where the guests - with a magnificent goalkeeper in Oscar Alsenfelt (29 saves on 30 shots) - made 4-1. The redeeming 1-0 goal came from the Danish Matias Lassen after 55 seconds and became the start of a Danish target explosion, seasoned with a Finnish element.

After HV acknowledged after 6.25 through Alexander Bergström, Malmö switched the grip again when Finnish Matias Myttynen took advantage of an expulsion in the home team and pressed in 2-1 in powerplay after 8.35.

With just over five minutes remaining, the Danish Frederik Storm expanded to 3-1 and in the empty cage the compatriot Jesper Jensen determined the final result.

Thus, Malmö took its first three points since November 21.

The victory means that Malmö retains its ninth place in the table. The HV71 is fifth.
