Already after 2.2 kilometers, Therese Johaug, Norway, had taken a lead with ten seconds ahead of Jessica Diggins, USA. At five kilometers she had extended the lead to 17.4 seconds and in goal she was 30 seconds faster than the second Heide Weng. Trea became Jessica Diggins who was 36 after Johaug.

- She is by far the world's best skier. The question of whether anyone has been this good ever in ski history. Oh, what she goes fast, says SVT Sports expert Anders Blomquist and continues:

- Marit Björgen was not as superior in the distance race, but as an alternative she had a sprint tip. It's hard to compare, but she's an amazing skier.

Best Swedish was Charlotte Kalla who finished in tenth place when she was 1.19 after Therese Johaug.

New layout for Kalla

Charlotte Kalla had a new set up for today's distance competition at high altitude.

- I have tried a new scheme with staying low and not even being up for competition preparation yesterday. It will be interesting to see how the body responds when I only show up for competition, Charlotte Kalla told SVT Sport before the competition.
