The match was decided in spring weight (65.7 kilos) and got off to a fast start. Teymur immediately hit with a hard right and quickly coupled a guillotine, a throttle from the front where the arm wraps around the opponent's neck.

Young American Chase Hooper, 20 years old and undefeated, stayed cool and took off. Instead, he managed to take a back seat to Teymur and chased various submissions while the Swede was in a difficult position.

With about a minute left of the first round, Hooper got "full mount" sitting in a dominant position on Teymur's chest. Defenseless, the Swede got a hit and then the referee broke the match with 26 seconds left of round one.

The victory was Hooper's tenth in his career, but it was his first ever in the UFC. Daniel Teymur has lost four of his five matches in the world's top MMA organization since joining in 2017.
