There was both positive and negative news today for the national team captain Tomas Montén and the rest who hope for Swedish success at the junior World Cup later this month.

First it became clear that Skellefteå's center Jacob Olofsson misses the tournament because of an injury to the upper body.

An NHL goal so far

But just a few hours later came a more pleasant news: the NHL team Winnipeg Jets then announced that they will release center David Gustafsson, 19, to the Swedish team.

Former HV71 player Gustafsson has already taken a seat in Winnipeg from the start and has scored a goal of 22 games in the NHL so far during his rookie season.

JVM is played in the Czech Republic

The Swedish Ice Hockey Association is still waiting for a definitive message regarding Toronto running back Rasmus Sandin and Chicago's Adam Boqvist.

JVM will be played this year in the Czech Republic and will start on December 26. The tournament is broadcast, as usual, here on SVT.
