As a 15-year-old, Lundquist broke through in Alvik and had many offers from abroad when she chose to sign for Telge for last year's season. After a season, however, the adventure abroad became reality for the then 19-year-old basketball talent, who wrote for Montpellier.

But life as a professional did not feel right for Lundquist who chose to break the contract at the end of November.

- It grew in the meantime, but I gave it an honest try. It was not only the homesickness but also the life itself, to train and then just go back to his apartment. You are pretty much yourself, there was nothing I wanted to do right now.

"Felt very natural"

Lundquist has been at home for some time but it is only now that it is clear that she will play the season for Alvik.

- Only when I got home did I not want to negotiate a contract with any club. I wanted to have some time off and not think about it at all, that's a little why it was pushed forward.

Klara Lundquist has made her biggest imprint in Alvik where she has played for most of her career. Therefore, it was an easy choice to return home.

- It felt very natural. I felt that I needed to find a situation and a team that I enjoy very well in order to finish the season and then Alvik was pretty obvious. It's close to home and then I know many in the team. It's my home club after all, so it feels fun to be back.

The 20-year-old will be a real addition for the club who are in search of the first women's gold on the women's side and who is currently one of the top teams in the table.

- Now we can challenge Umeå and Luleå for the gold medal, it is so important she is, says Alvik's club director David McCann to SVT Sport.

Alvikshjärd has pumped hard in this contract

- It feels great, she is more important. When she now wanted to come home on her own, so to speak, it felt obvious to us to work hard to get her to the team, says McCann about the importance of Lundqvist in the team.

In Lundquist's absence, 18-year-old Tova Sabel has grown into a cog in the team. When Lundquist comes home, she adds another dimension to the team.

- She is a perfect balance in the team. She will fill a perfect position in the team and fill the same void she left behind when she disappeared from us.

Was it expensive to pick up Klara?

- Well, not to be a player who played in a Euroleague team. You can say that Alvikshjärtat pumped hard in this contract, says McCann with a small laugh.
