The Spanish base joined the Minnesota Timberwolves , their first team in the NBA, their sixth consecutive game distributing nine or more assists and the sixth game of the year scoring 15 or more points. In his last three appearances, he has given 15, 13 and 14 assists respectively with only eight losses in total.
These 14 assists of Rubio might seem something out of the ordinary, but it is the 32nd time in his career in the NBA that manages to overcome that mark, although only in six of those times he had managed to pass the 15 points in said match. His best mark is still the 19 basket passes he achieved in March 2017, still in the Timberwolves, against the Wizards.
As for the Phoenix Suns , the victory over Minnesota helps them regain positions in a very close Western Conference, beyond the leadership of the Lakers . The triumph, 125-109, against a direct rival like the Wolves positions them in the eighth place of the conference, with the same balance as the Oklahoma City Thunder and a distance meeting over Sacramento and Minnesota.
Devin Booker was again the top scorer for the Suns with 26 points, 24 for Kelly Oubre Jr and 20 for Dario Saric. In Minnesota, 33 points and 15 rebounds from Karl Anthony Towns and 23 from Andrew Wiggins.
