Ida Dannewitz, from Vänge in Uppsala, has had a great start to the season. After two podium places in the European Cup, both in Kvitfjell last weekend, today she was able to clinch her first victory in the European Cup.

- She drives tough, very tough. Today she really dares to put the skis in the fall line, really the same thing she did so successfully in Kvitfjell and it is extremely impressive of her, says coach Lars Nilsson in a press release.

"Really nervous"

Dannewitz himself does not really agree with his coach.

- Again I was really nervous before the start and the ride itself felt OK but that I was really everywhere in the track. I haven't driven in St. Moritz before and it's a tough hang.

“Feels incredible”

She won by eight hundredth margin to the former world champion in the Grand Slalom, Tessa Worley, from France. Down to third Wendy Holdener, there were 33 hundredths, two qualified riders. A victory Dannewitz values highly.

- I can't really understand that I won, especially considering that Tessa and Wendy are just behind, feels absolutely incredible.

Dannewitz has spent a great deal of time on Super G and is now being paid for the hard work on the road ahead.

- We have been riding a lot of Super-G and not least trained in the tough terrain, the pre-season has been very successful and is probably a big part of the successes, says the coach, Lars Nilsson.

Sweden has lined up pallet placements during the season opening. In addition to Dannewitz, Sara Rask has also been at the top of the podium.
