Al-Ahmar provided a historical overview of this edition of the tournament after the team joined the championship's golden record, as it was the only one of the teams that participated in the tournament since its first copies, which had not been crowned previously.

With this, the Yemeni team has become the only team among the teams currently participating in the championship, which was not crowned with the Gulf title, knowing that its participation started only nine copies ago.

The first half of the match ended in a goalless draw after Salman Al-Faraj wasted a penalty kick for the Saudi national team in the 12th minute.
