A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated behavior, police say in a statement.

"Racism of any kind has no place in football or in our society and I hope this arrest proves we are taking this issue extremely seriously," said Manchester Police Chief Chris Hill.

The police will continue to cooperate with Manchester City and Manchester United in this event.
