The Greater Manchester Police have arrested a man in relation to the racist acts that took place this Saturday at the meeting between Manchester City and Manchester United.
During United's 1-2 win over City, a video showed a couple of fans performing racist gestures and insulting United players like Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Fred .
In addition, the latter was hit by an object thrown from the stands, forcing the match to stop for a few minutes.
The City published as soon as the meeting ended a statement in which it condemned what happened in the game and made available to the police to identify the individual. They also underlined his intention to suspend him for life from being able to attend the field.
The English football federation (FA) confirmed on Sunday that it will also investigate the incident.
It is not the first case in England this season of players suffering racist acts during football matches. Raheem Sterling, Troy Deeney and Paul Pogba are some of the players who have suffered it and who have denounced it in recent months.
