Revenge for the first round and the struggle for second place

The last truly top RPL match in 2019 was the confrontation between Krasnodar and CSKA. The teams are fighting for medals and intend to directly get into the Champions League, and therefore both sides needed a victory.

In addition, the Moscow Lokomotiv, which on Friday missed four unanswered goals from the Tula Arsenal, gave the rivals another opportunity to rise to second place. True, the army team and southerners lose points regularly.

The hosts had additional motivation for this match. In the first round, wards of Murad Musaev lost to red and blue away - 2: 3, and after the first half they were defeated, but the replacement Marcus Berg tried to save the team from defeat.

True, the main game for the hosts, Magomed-Shapi Suleymanov, missed the reporting game due to the exhaustion of yellow cards. His place was taken by midfielder Dmitry Stotsky. For the army, the composition turned out to be completely predictable. In particular, Alan Dzagoev, who recovered from an injury, re-entered the field from the first minutes.

Confident CSKA and Krasnodar without moments

The match began without a buildup and already at the end of the first ten-minute team exchanged dangerous moments. At Krasnodar, Vanderson threw the ball past Igor Diveev, entered the penalty area and inaccurately shot into the far corner. In response, Nikola Vlašić shot on target in a similar situation. Matvey Safonov dealt with the threat.

And soon CSKA unexpectedly managed to score. Oblyakov from outside the penalty area decided to strike into the far corner from 25 meters, and the shell flew into the net with a rebound from the bar. True, the chief referee Vasily Kazartsev did not hurry to count the goal. He had a long discussion of the episode with his assistants. It turned out that when the ball was intercepted, Konstantin Kuchaev could not play against Ari by the rules. But, having watched the replay, the referee still pointed to the center.

Having opened an account, the army team began to play even more confidently. They controlled the ball in a strange half of the field and acted as the first number. Dzagoev was also looking very high quality. In defense, the red-blue also played without panic. The only hope of “Krasnodar” was the counterattack, but the guests coped with them confidently.

Only at the end of the first half, CSKA pressed a little against the goal, but there were no really dangerous moments at the gate of Igor Akinfeev. The hosts for the entire first half only once hit the target, although they struck seven shots.

11 minutes added and Akinfeev saved a penalty

In the second half, the hosts at all costs needed to recoup, but because Musaev released Dmitry Skopintsev instead of the unimportantly looking Stotsky.

And the “Krasnodar” very quickly helped recoup a penalty kick. Penalties for the team earned Ari, who fell into someone else's penalty area in the fight against Oblyakov. Kazartsev and in this situation could not do without the help of VAR and watched the replay for almost five minutes. As a result, the referee still pointed to the “point”, and along the way showed the cards to Oblyakov and the protesting Dzagoev.

Ari went to shoot the penalty kick, but failed to beat Akinfeev. Nevertheless, the naturalized Brazilian was the first to finish off and still sent the shell into the net.

In response, Goncharenko decided to remove Dzagoev from the field, and instead he released defender Kirill Nababkin, apparently anticipating the need to strengthen the defense.

And so it happened. The owners finally took the initiative into their own hands and besieged the gates of Akinfeev. Ten minutes before the final whistle, Tony De Villena struck dangerously from outside the penalty area, but Igor in two steps still took the ball.

CSKA responded with an incredible moment in the performance of the same Nababkin. Cyril famously connected to the counterattack and struck a corner from close range. Safonov only miraculously parried the shot.

But Kazartsev after some time again went to watch the replay. The judges suspected that in the reporting episode Nababkin could be shot down in the penalty area. In consultation with the assistants, the judge again took several minutes at once. But in this situation, the referee did not dare to point to the "point".

Thus, none of the teams managed to snatch victory, and the confrontation in Krasnodar ended in peace, which allowed the southerners to remain in second place in the RPL standings. CSKA is still the third.
