Sweden was long down against Argentina in the first half, but went to the lead at halftime with 14-11. Sweden, after victories against Congo, China and Japan, had a new starting seven with Mikaela Messing and Carin Strömberg.

New nifty start

It was not a brilliant half, but thanks to newcomer Jamina Roberts, best on the pitch with four goals, Sweden could win the half with three goals. Roberts came in with Melissa Petrén and pulled up the pace and accelerated the Swedish offensive game.

- Good to come in from the bench. They don't really care about me, I think, "Roberts tells TV6.

Isabelle Gulldén entered for the first time in the match with just over a quarter remaining, at lead 20-16. Bella especially did Mikaela Brass well, with beautiful wall-play combinations, with Brass as the finisher.

Gulldén quality enhancers in others

Sweden went up five goal lead 23-18 when Gulldén set a safe penalty. Looking one way, the ball to the other, showed grounded confidence. She also stood for powerful game goals, 26-20, breakthrough with routine, and precision finishing. Sweden finally won with seven balls, in a match where many people walked around.

- We have a thought to go a long way in this tournament. We have a good width. It is clear that we have players that we want to match more against Russia, and they will come fresh against Russia, says the federation captain Henrik Signell.

Russia in the group finals

Andrake keeper Martina Thörn guarded the Swedish goal, and did well.

- In the defense we did well, but it's too bad sharpness in the closing, we could have won with ten more balls, says Thörn.

Sweden ends the group game tomorrow against Russia. A clean group final between two undefeated teams. Sweden is up to eight points, just like Russia. The points from the group are then taken into the main round.
