According to RIA Novosti, the decision was made at a committee meeting on December 5.

“Our fans are the most cultured ... Look at what is happening in Europe, what kind of fans there are, especially in the UK, but no one forbids them to drink beer,” said committee head Mikhail Degtyarev.

It is noted that the proceeds from the sale will go to the development of youth sports.

On October 23, it became known that the Russian government supported the bill on the sale of beer at football matches. The ban currently in force was introduced in 2005.

Earlier, the first vice-president of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Igor Levitin expressed the opinion that the law on the sale of beer in stadiums will support the balance-holders of arenas.
