Several of the Swedish profiles relinquish the championship for various reasons, including Sarah Sjöström, Michelle Coleman, Victor Johansson, sisters Sophie and Louise Hansson.

A place for others to emerge, such as 15-year-old Södertörn towers Emelie Fast. She qualified for the European Championships in 2017 but was then too young to participate, but in the European Championships in Glasgow she can participate in 50 meters breaststroke.

The time, the new personal record of 30.56, which she recently noted at the junior SM, is the sixth fastest ever in Sweden.

"She thought it was great fun, and that she qualified for the European Championships which was the big goal for this season," her coach Johan Ekberg told SVT Sport earlier.

At the short course European Championships in Copenhagen in 2017, Sweden took seven medals, three gold, three silver and one bronze. Sarah Sjöström took four medals individually and two in team caps.
