Crystal Palace wins with ten men from Bournemouth

Crystal Palace was up against Bournemouth from captain Nathan Aké for more than seventy minutes with a man down, but the team won 1-0.

Jeffrey Schlupp scored the only goal at Selhurst Park fifteen minutes before the end. The Ghanaian came in after half an hour for Dutch national Patrick van Aanholt, who dropped out with a hamstring injury.

Crystal Palace played with ten men from the nineteenth minute through a red card from Mamadou Sakho. The defender was dismissed by referee Anthony Taylor after a strong and high tackle on Bournemouth right back Adam Smith.

Eleven-time Oranje-international Aké was the captain of Bournemouth for the first time in a Premier League-game. Permanent captain Simon Francis started on the bench with the team of manager Eddie Howe, who is 12th with sixteen points. Crystal Palace is doing surprisingly well with a fifth place and 21 points.
