This weekend, the women's indoor volleyball World Cup begins in Switzerland. It has been unclear over the past week whether Täbys back Lisa Carlsson, 20, would be allowed to play there.

Carlsson was reported to the Legal Committee last week after a tackle in the match against Iksu last weekend, and a suspension could have led to her missing the World Cup.

"Great that I can join"

But now it is clear that Carlsson is not forced to stand over the championship in Switzerland. Carlsson will be suspended in a match, but the suspension will not take effect until after the World Cup.

"Since SSL has a suspension at the time of JN's decision, JN has decided that the enforcement of the penalty should be moved forward and the closing time will be counted from the first day of competition when SSL resumes after the longer competition pause due to the World Cup," the legal committee writes in his decision.

- It is very sad that I miss a match in the series, but it is so great that I get to participate in the World Cup, she tells SVT Sport.

- But I think it is sad that I will be turned off, because on my part it is an accident. But I can't do that much now, others are making the assessment.

Have you been nervous about not being in the World Cup?

- No, not very much. In fact, I didn't reflect that much. I was just trying to upload for the World Cup and not trying to think so much about it and put so much weight on it. Without trying to focus on anything else.

Starts the World Cup against Slovakia

The suspension is valid on December 21-22, which means that Carlsson misses Täby's away game against Dalen.

The World Cup starts on Saturday. Sweden, who is the reigning champion, starts against Slovakia.

- It feels great fun. I'm super-charged to go there and try to defend the gold, ”says Lisa Carlsson.
