The design of the building was inspired by a hand-drawn plan by Sheikh Nasser nine years ago for a building in the form of numbers in 2022, to be the icon of the buildings due to its beauty and splendor of design as it is the first building of its kind in the world in the form of a number.

The area of ​​the building is about sixty thousand square meters, and is a mixed-use and includes administrative offices and integrated health club and a series of restaurants and cafes, as well as meeting rooms and a lecture theater, as well as directly connected to the pedestrian tunnel at Khalifa International Stadium, which will witness some of the games of the 2022 World Cup.

The building consists of four rectangular joint buildings consisting of five floors in the form of numbers 2022 above the ground and mezzanine and connected to the basement, and through modern and engineering design was given the facade of the building as well as its horizontal projection body number 2022.

The 2022 building joins the Aspire Zone's many buildings - stadiums, academy, garden, hotel, shopping mall and hospital - where the idea began in 2011 and was designed in 2013, and actually began work in mid-2018 and was launched on Monday, the second of December, the anniversary of Qatar's bid to host the World Cup.

During the opening ceremony, which was attended by the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Sheikh Nasser considered that the idea of ​​building 2022 has turned from a dream to reality in record time and this facility has become in addition to the Aspire Academy and sports family in the country, adding that the anniversary of the second Also from December, she will be present in the hearts of Qataris as she held the honor of hosting the World Cup.

Sheikh Nasser said in a statement to Al Jazeera Net that when he presented his idea to some of his comrades considered it a joke, but with his determination and the support he found from the leadership of his country, his idea was turned into reality three years before hosting the championship.

Regarding the symbolism of the opening of the opening on December 2, Sheikh Nasser said the opening was scheduled in the first half of 2020, but his brother Sheikh Ahmed suggested that the opening to be the anniversary of winning the hosting, so intensified work to be able to open on schedule and indeed This was done but after great efforts of all involved in the construction of the building.

The owner of the idea of ​​Building 2022 explains that this unique project would not have come to light without the state's support for the Qatari investor and urged the investor to embark on creative ideas that make Qatar an oasis of creativity, pointing out that Aspire Zone presented in 2016 some investment opportunities for the private sector and docked in October The building project was awarded the best integrated project as it complements the Aspire Zone master plan that needed a business center as this project provides.

Qatari designer Ibrahim Al Jaidah said that this building is in addition to the large and prominent projects in the country which entrenches in mind the most important event in the history of sports in the country "World Cup 2022" which will make Qatar the kiss of the world.

Al Jaidah, who designed Al Thumama Stadium in the form of a cranial (head cover / cap), added that his assignment to the building was a great pleasure to take part in consolidating this great event in the minds of the Qatari people, hoping that this new building will serve the sporting life in the country and the whole region.
