Former NHL player Sean Avery has told of an incident when Crawford coached the Los Angeles Kings head coach during the 2006-07 season. A situation when the team was penalized for a player too much on the ice and the opposing team scored goals.
“You know how I stood there at the end of the booth? He came and kicked me properly, so it became a mark ”.
Avery's story has prompted others to come forward and tell similar things.
Among other things, the sack Brent Sopel, who played in the Vancouver Canucks when Crawford was a coach, told about how Crawford “kicked me, took a leash, grabbed my shirt and pulled me backwards. He went on personal attack ”.
As late as Friday, Calgary Flames head coach Bill Peters was fired after details of racist comments and beatings.
Crawford has been the head coach in the NHL for 18 seasons in several different teams.
