Johan Strömwall has long been a name synonymous with Luleå Hockey. 17 seasons in Luleå rendered in Swedish gold and national team games in Three Kronor. In 2011, Strömwall took over the head coach job in Södertälje and despite the completed assignments, the northern settlement has remained in the city. Today, the 55-year-old was announced as new club director for Södertälje Basket with representation in both the women's and men's high school divisions

- I have experience from when elite teams work best, and these are the same success factors in all team sports, says Strömwall in an interview with LT.

Previous experience as club director

Johan Strömwall has previously held the position of club director, but then at Luleå Hockey.

- The two most enjoyable years of my working life were as club director for Luleå Hockey. It's a fun job, where you are the coordinating force that makes the club develop based on the board's directives, ”Strömwall tells LT.

Despite a long career in hockey, Strömwall still has some experience from the basketball.

- I am associated with hockey, not basketball. But as I pondered further, I felt it would be very exciting. I have played basketball, up to the age of 13, in Gammelstads IF, which later became Plannja. I saw a lot of matches with Plannja in the 90's, and have seen them go many hard times with Södertälje, says Johan Strömwall.
