Jesper Boqvist has played ten games in the NHL so far, and during the last two he has also got the puck in goal.

As late as Wednesday, the Swede made the career's first NHL goal. Then he said he hoped the goals would keep coming. And so far, desire has effect.

With eight minutes left of the second period against Montréal on away, Boqvist poked the puck on a return from a shot by Nico Hischier.

- Of course, it is good for self-confidence, and it feels great to be able to help the team make goals. And that was an important goal for us, he says to the TV channel MSG + during the last period rest.

Boqvist's goal gave New Jersey the lead with 3-4, and that position brought the team to the third period.

The lead was then extended to 5–3, but the Canadians reduced immediately.

In the final minutes of the match, Montréal took out his goalkeeper and in a counter-attack, New Jersey's Blake Coleman managed to cut the final score to 6-4. In addition to finishing goal, Coleman, who celebrated his 28th birthday on the ice, also made the first of the match and noted for two assists.

New Jersey goalkeeper Mackenzie Blackwood made 44 saves, most so far during his NHL career.

- They are always persistent. Montreal always shoots a lot at targets, takes many returns. They mean that you have to work hard and stay sharp throughout the game, says Blackwood from the dressing room.
