Sweden's basketball ladies hoped to avoid going to China to qualify for the Olympics. And also avoid falling into the same group as the US. The result of the pre-difficult qualifying draw was the least difficult of the four group alternatives.
Sweden ended up in the same group as Canada, Japan, and Belgium, in group four, which is played in Ostend in Belgium. Three out of four in the group will go to the Tokyo Olympics.
