Football referee Mohammed Obaid Khadim, who led the Arabian Gulf Super Cup match between Sharjah and Al-Ahli in September, confirmed that he had withdrawn the complaint he had filed at Al Raffa Police Station in Dubai against an Al-Shabab fan for assaulting him. During the match, he pointed out that his waiver of the complaint on the side related to him in order to uphold the values of tolerance, while the disciplinary committee of the Football Federation took its own disciplinary measures in accordance with its regulations in this incident.

Mohammed Obeid Khadim told Emirates Today: “I have completed the formal legal procedures related to the filing of this case against a fan out of my conviction of upholding the values of tolerance. I have already gone to the Al Raffa Police Station in Dubai and withdrew my earlier complaint. Especially after the incident of abuse ».

The match, which was held at Al Maktoum Stadium in Al Nasr Club in Dubai, ended with Sharjah defeating Al Ahli youth on penalties and won the championship title.

“For us as judges of stadiums, we always stress that we are not the weakest, but we are the best,” said Mohamed Obaid.

Although he is a first-class referee, Mohamed Obeid Khadim is one of the most distinguished ascending referees.

"Everyone is united as a game of mistakes," said Mohamed Obaid. "Just as the player makes mistakes, as well as the coach, administrative, technical and refereeing bodies, fans are expected to make mistakes, but I hope that such actions will not be repeated, either in our stadiums or in international stadiums."

Mohamed Obeid revealed that his initiative to withdraw the communication against a fan was also approved by the FIFA Referees Committee.

It is noteworthy that the disciplinary committee in the Football Federation had punished Al-Ahli youth for the incident of the attack on the referee, a fine of 70 thousand dirhams, before the appeal committee reduced to 30 thousand dirhams.

The match witnessed strict arbitration decisions by the referee Mohammed Obaid Khadim, including the expulsion of Sharjah defender Al-Hassan Saleh, for beating Al-Ahli youth player Abdul Aziz Heikal with elbow, and then the disciplinary committee was fined 50,000 dirhams and suspended one game, in addition to the penalty of direct expulsion in the stadium.
