Rafael Nadal drew his last strength to give Spain their 6th Davis Cup by winning the second singles match against Denis Shapovalov 6-3, 7-6 (9/7) in the final against Canada. Roberto Bautista had won the first singles against Felix Auger-Aliassime 7-6 (7/3), 6-3.

Visibly exhausted at the end of the season, the world N.1 has drawn deep in its resources in the tiebreak, especially after missing two first match points.
On the second in particular, the point seemed made while he still had a great forehand to play close to the net. But too insecure, his blow was countered by Shapovalov.
The Majorcan, in turn, saved a set ball in favor of Shapovalov to conclude the match and competition on his next match ball.
