Jon Rahm needed a birdie in the 18th and final hole to take home the World Tour Championship in Dubai - and the Spaniard kept his nerves in check as he rolled the decisive put in the hole.

This meant not only that the 25-year-old took home the final of the European Tour just before the British Tommy Fleetwood. It also meant that he stood as the final winner in Race to Dubai.

The putt was not only worth $ 3 million for the race victory itself. Rahm also took home another two for first place in the money league - a total of just over SEK 48 million.

- It feels like I'm starting to cry. It's been a lot of ups and downs, says the winner in Viaplay's broadcast.

"I had no idea about that"

Rahm also ranks as the new third in the world ranking.

- I had no idea about that. It's hard to understand. It's been a fantastic year.

With a series of 66, 69, 66 and 68 strokes after four playing days, Rahm finished at 19 under par. Prior to the final race day, he was equal to Frenchman Mike Lorenzo-Vera who landed in third place, two strokes after the win.

The best Swedish was Marcus Kinhult, who ended the competition with his least successful round, 76 strokes, and dropped with it from sixth to 16th place. The 23-year-old, who finished twelve in the Race to Dubai, received a final score of five under par, which was eight strokes better than Henrik Stenson who of the 50 starts finished sharing 44th.
