Before the meeting against Luleå, Linköping had an ambitious goal, to beat SDHL's audience record of 6200 spectators. A little more than halfway there, 3622 was on site to see the home team against the reigning champions Luleå. Like the recent matches, Luleå star duo Emma Nordin and Michelle Karvinen were missing but the loss did not play a major role in the result.

The north bottoms took the lead through Wilma Sjölund and continued to press. Linköping created chances but never managed to get holes at Minatsu Murase in Luleåkassen. Jenni Hiirikoski extended the away team's lead as she pushed off blue in powerplay.

In sub-3-0, Linköping took out the goalkeeper to knock in Luleå. And when the away team also drew an expulsion, Linköping got a ticket into the match. Instead of reducing, Linn Peterson with his second goal of the match put the nail in the coffin to 4-0 for Luleå.
