Tampa Bay suffered no jet lag at home against the New York Rangers. In their first match after this weekend's adventure in Stockholm, the Floridal team won by as much as 9–3.

Over the course of one minute and one second in the first period, Tampa Bay dreamed up three more goals. Moreover, since Rangers, and Alexandar Georgiev, already released a puck, the New York team went to period rest with a staggering 4-0 down. Henrik Lundqvist replaced, but things did not go much better.

"Pretty embarrassing"

Four more goals came in the second period, then Lundqvist got off again. Georgiev took over in the final period, and let in another goal before the final signal sounded.

"It's obviously quite embarrassing," Rangers forward Chris Kreider told TV channel MSG, noting that teams should avoid evictions against Tampa Bay as far as possible.

Five of the goals from the Florida team came just when Rangers players sat on the deportation bench.

-You can of course prepare your boxplay as much as you want. But they obviously have a very vigorous powerplay and if you don't avoid the deportation booth it will hit you, says Kreider.

Colleague Ryan Strome did not try to make any evasions, more than he thought any deportation was unfair.

"We all saw what happened out there, we have to come together as a team, we can't let our bad matches be this bad," he tells MSG.

Three assists for Hedman

The happier noises were in the home team's dressing room. The last Tampa Bay to score nine goals was in 2003, when they outclassed Pittsburgh. Nikita Kutjerov got four points, including one goal, and Swedish sack Victor Hedman scored for three assists.

Another Swedish goalkeeper who had a bad day at work is Colorado's Adam Werner. He allowed five goals before leaving the ice when Edmonton won 6-2. The match was Werner's only second in the North American Pro League, and became a sad follow-up to the successful start on November 12, when he zeroed in on Winnipeg.

Colorado's two goals were scored by André Burakovsky, his sixth and seventh this season. Oscar Klefbom accounted for three assists for Edmonton.
