Atletico Madrid are keen to sign Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic during the winter transfer season, according to sports reports.
The newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that Rakitic, who has played in only one game this season with Barcelona, has returned to the focus of the "Rojeblancos", which may resolve the deal cheaply.
She explained that the Madrid club is ready to pay the 40 million euros, which may be approved by the management of the Catalan club to dispense with the international midfielder, who had expressed his sadness about the current situation and that he is waiting for the next transfer season to determine his future.
She pointed out that the problem at Atletico is not the value of the deal but the salary of the 31-year-old, estimated at 6.5 million euros, adding that the Argentine-coach Diego Simeone will have to lay off one of his players to not exceed the salary limits.
