Measures for congestion in the Tokyo Olympics Demonstration experiment of advance reservation system in parking lot November 13, 14:22

During the next year's Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, a demonstration experiment is being conducted to make advance reservations for coin-operated parking lots only for operators who use trucks for transportation, etc. .

This experiment is being conducted at two coin parking lots around the venue in line with the Parabadminton international competition held at Yoyogi National Stadium in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.

During the tournament, there is concern that a truck for delivery or a car carrying goods to the store will stop on the shoulder of the road or wander around the area looking for a vacant parking lot. It has been.

For this reason, in the experiment, coin parking, which can be normally stopped without reservation, was used as a reservation-only parking lot, and businesses that wished to use it had made reservations in advance through WEB.

And on the 13th, the cars of the construction workers who made the reservations were stopped at the designated place.

The experiment will run until the 14th, and we will verify the issues by taking questionnaires to users.

“Congestion countermeasures are important so that athletes can move smoothly. We want to prepare countermeasures while taking into consideration the impact on economic activities,” said Masashi Sugaya, General Manager of Traffic Facilitation Adjustment Section of the Organizing Committee.
