Luleå receives flag ban on pyrotechnics

Luleå is being penalized after pyrotechnics were ignited at the out-of-the-way in a north exchange with Skellefteå in October. In addition to fines, supporters will receive a flag ban until January 31, 2020. It announces the club on its website during Wednesday night.

The competition committee of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association today made the decision to fine Luleå with SEK 10,000 at the same time as the supporters receive a flag ban on the stands until 31 January 2020, the club announces on its website.

It was in the match away against Skellefteå on October 22 that pyrotechnics ignited at the away stand.

In the decision, the Competition Board writes that they take a serious look at the use of illegal pyrotechnics in connection with ice hockey and they also note that Luleå supporters have been involved in similar offenses before.
