Sidney Crosby was injured in the 3-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks last Saturday after clashing with Swedish Erik Gustafsson and shortly thereafter blocking his shot.
Now the site The Athletic reports that the star is hurt.
Crosby is pulled with hernia and is expected to be gone for up to six weeks.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been injured in the start of the NHL. Among other things, Yevgeny Malkin was injured in October.
Despite the injuries, the Penguins have started the league in a positive way and are on one of the two wild card spots in the Eastern Conference after 18 rounds.
