Handball Women's World Championship Director “Aiming to break through the first league” November 12, 19:27

The Japanese national team members who will face the world championship of handball women starting this month were announced, and coach Ulric Kilkelly, who led the team, expressed his enthusiasm that "we want to fight one game one game well and aim for the first league breakthrough".

The Handball Women's World Championship will open in Kumamoto on the 30th of this month, and 24 teams including Japan will participate.

On the 12th, 21 members of the Japanese national team were announced in Tokyo, and Director Kilkelly said at the conference, “I will concentrate on the first game against Argentina but I will fight firmly in each game and aim to break through to the first league.” The goal was to advance to the second league where the top 12 teams advance.

Japan already has the right to participate in the Olympic Games for the first time in 44 years in the host country frame, and this World Championship will be a valuable strengthening place for next year.

Japan's world ranking is currently 13th, and in the qualifying round, it will compete against the gold medals such as Russia at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

The tournament will be held at 5 venues in Kumamoto Prefecture from 30th of this month to 15th of next month.
