Hansen in gold position - wiped out the World Cup lead

Timmy Hansen tied a little grip on the World Cup title in rallycross. Hansen is now five points ahead of the table race, the Norwegian Andreas Bakkerud, after the first day of the last competition in Cape Town, South Africa. - I'm happy with the first day. I'll lie down, I'll drive hard, as much as I can tomorrow, says Hansen to SVT Sport.

The World Cup leader is second in the final race behind Finn Niclas Grönholm who has nothing to do with the medal match.

Little brother Kevin Hansen is fifth and approached the silver spot. Now only six points behind Bakkerud, who are six after the first day.

Tomorrow morning the qualification for the semi-finals and final will end. Timmy meets Bakkerud directly in the third round.

- I was a bit lucky with the lottery and stand in pole with Bakkerud a bit out when a driver got an extra time. It feels good, says Hansen. Anton Marklund is eighth in the summary.

In practice, Oliver Eriksson secured the championship already on Saturday. The only competitor for the gold, the Finnish Jesse Kallio is last in the summary and was 21 points after Eriksson before the final.
