Former international referee Salah Amin, a member of the referees committee of the Football Association, and a member of the team tasked with assisting in the selection process of judges of stadiums, who manage the matches, whether in the Arabian Gulf League or other matches in various local competitions, revealed four criteria set by the referees committee, When you appoint referees, whether referee arena or assistants, or video referee for the various games, including: the technical level of the referee, the quality of the match that the committee wants to assign its management to a particular referee, in addition to not repeat the appointment of the referee to manage a match for a team that had previously protested in a match before. Considerate Team positions before the referee is selected.

Salah Amin told Emirates Today: `` There are some games that require the selection of a certain type of referees, for example a match that is expected to be full of excitement, and may be tense between the two teams, we assign it to a referee who is calm in order to calm the players.

He stressed that there were strict criteria followed by the Committee in any selection process for judges.

As for the mechanism adopted by the Referees Committee in the matter of the appointment of referees, it begins with the referees administration represented by the Director of the Technical Department Ali Al-Tarifi and the Technical Director of Referees Steve Bent, the proposal for the appointment of the referees, and then presented to the mini committee in charge of the Referees Committee, which includes Salah Amin Ahmed Yacoub to review the proposal, pointing out that the Committee has the right to make an amendment to the proposal or pass it as it is.

The Referees Committee has received several protests against the referees, including a protest by Bani Yas Club against arbitration during the match against Kalba in the sixth round, as well as another official protest from Al Ain Club, the day before yesterday, on the performance of the referee «Leader» against Bani Yas in the seventh round of the league in the use of video referee technology (mouse), where Al Ain Club said in an official statement that he lost seven points this season, because of the misuse of referees «« mouse »during his matches.

The Referees Committee has made great efforts to reduce the arbitration errors, as the Committee has also, as of the seventh round, applied the infiltration technique, and this technique works on the system of horizontal lines, and helps the video referee to identify cases of infiltration accurately.

Salah Amin explained: When we talk about the technical management of the referees, we mean both the Director of the Technical Department of the referees Ali Trifi, and Steve Bent, who are responsible for the development of the proposal for the appointment of referees. He continued, "Unfortunately, some analysts in the sports channels do not know the role of technical director of the referee Ali Trifi, as well as the role of Steve Bent, as Trifi is responsible for the technical affairs of the referees, and also responsible for Steve." He pointed out that the management of the Referees Committee includes several sections, including the administrative, technical and logistic section, and others. He pointed out that the management of the referees do daily work, is to follow the referees, and other matters related to arbitration.

The four criteria for choosing a referee

1. Technical level of government.

2. The quality of the match to which the Committee wishes to assign its administration to a particular referee.

3 - not to repeat the appointment of the referee to manage a match for a team that had previously protested in a match before.
