Swedish three-legged legend Christisn Olsson was elected to the sport's body in the International Athletics Association 2015, where former athletes are the voice of the active to influence. The four-year term expires in December 2019.

Olsson has struggled for a different message than several branches are now disappearing from the Diamond Leauge program.

Olsson: "It's getting tougher now"

- I think it's boring. Some branch groups have had a tough time in the past. Now it becomes even tougher to practice their sport and make money from it, ”the 39-year-old tells SVT Sport.

The last meeting with the "athletes commission" was at the beginning of the year. After the meeting, the question of whether or not the branches of the Diamond League program were handled by mail.

- Yes, it is clear that we were involved, but not to a high degree. It is clear that we defended it. We want to keep all branches, says Olsson.

- We see that all branches have equal value. That is not how Diamond Leagues competition directors look at it. They see it in a way that the competitions are going well. Public and financial. They look at it more commercially. Which are the most attractive, the least attractive.

Olsson feels that the opportunity to be involved in influencing the decision, from the athletes' point of view, has been limited.

- We can only submit opinions to the highest authority of the IAAF. Then they take it. It is a matter of course that we fight for all our activists, but then they remove them ... They do not share our opinion.

Holm: "A strange decision"

Former high jump star Stefan Holm sat between 2007 and 2015 in the same instance as Christian Olsson. Holm is also questioning the IAAF's reduction in the Diamond League.

- I'm very traditional of me. I think it's a strange decision. Even stranger is that you pick away 200 meters. Sprint star Noah Lyles, one on the overall ranking at the men's rankings. Daniel Ståhl is ranked ten, Christian Tyler eight. Removing branches where three of the world's best athletes are located.

- And in both women's and men's three-stage, and in men's discus, the world record is a little threatened right now. That the branches should not be in the Diamond League is strange. It is IAAF itself that is having problems then.

Holm believes that TV and money are the basis for the decision.

- It is assumed that people do not have the patience to watch TV for more than an hour and a half. I don't understand this with the shorter format. A football or a hockey game is also long. I think you are attacking the problem from the wrong direction.
