The match between Okaz and Al-Faiha in the King's Cup was stopped after the players discovered a "snake" moving on the pitch on Monday.

An hour before the match, held in the round of 64 at King Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Makkah, the players turned around a small snake and the referee stopped the game for several minutes until the stadium workers managed to control it with a stick and bowl.

When the snake was eliminated, Fayhaa was ahead with a goal, and then ended the meeting with a 3-0 win to reach the round of 32.

Official matches have seen break-ins of pets such as cats and dogs, while swarms of insects invaded Volgograd and attacked players during last year's World Cup match between England and Tunisia in Russia.
