"We have a proposal for an upcoming House of Representatives meeting at the end of November that the limitation period should be changed from the current two months to six months from the date a judgment has gained legal force," says Anders Hübinette, the football association's general counsel, to SVT Sport.

Most misdemeanors in Swedish sport, ranging from behaving badly against a judge to committing complex financial crime, have a two-month limitation period. This means that sports associations, after two months have passed, can no longer take any action against those who have broken the rules - or the law.

- In this case, we have no opportunity to test it legally in our procedures. The notifications that the football association's various disciplinary committees have drawn up have been canceled or revoked because of the limitation period, says SvFF's chief lawyer Anders Hübinette in an interview with TT.

The new proposal to extend the limitation period for financial crime, even those that are not about tax violations, will be discussed at the Board of Representatives meeting on December 5 this year.

About the verdict that came today, where ÖFK's former chairman Daniel Kindberg was sentenced to three years in prison, Hübinette says:

- I would like to take this opportunity to review a trial in which I have not been myself, but can only state that it is good that a proper judicial review has been made. Then we will see if the judgment will be appealed.

- On a general level, without going into this individual case, it is obvious that those who are in football must comply with laws and regulations and if you do not it is important that law enforcement agencies do a proper investigation and examination.
