“We hope that this will happen before the end of the year, that is, before the expiration of the powers of the current WADA president Craig Ridi, which will happen on December 31 this year,” Fitzgerald quotes TASS.

According to him, at this stage, WADA relies on the opinion of the compliance committee, which intends to announce its recommendations before the end of November. At the same time, he noted that he could not say this with confidence.

“This will allow the executive committee to consider this issue soon after receiving a recommendation,” said Fitzgerald.

On September 23, WADA initiated an expedited review of the issue of RUSADA non-compliance due to the identification of discrepancies between LIMS and Moscow laboratory data.

WADA gave RUSADA and the Russian Ministry of Sports three weeks starting September 17 to provide an explanation of the inconsistencies found and to answer a number of questions. On October 8, the Ministry of Sports provided WADA with an explanation.

Earlier, a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Richard Pound, said that WADA is still studying the data from the Moscow laboratory.
