At the end of the second half, Everton midfielder André Gomes was forced to carry on stretcher with what is feared to be a serious foot injury.

The Portuguese national team appeared to be stuck in the grass after a late tackle by Tottenham's Son Heung-Min while Gomes clashed with right-back Serge Aurier.

A very upset Son broke down and was shown off in connection with the incident. According to British Sky, Gomes was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"He can't even lift his head"

- I didn't want to look too much into what it looked like and send my best wishes, says Tottenham star Dele Alli according to the BBC.

Son was totally devastated.

- Son is completely ruined and cries so much. It's not his fault. Son is one of the nicest people you can meet. He can't even lift his head because he cries so much, Alli continues.

During the twelve extra minutes added after the injury, Everton's Cenk Tosun acknowledged the nod and the match ended 1-1. Tottenham have not won in the Premier League in over a month after four straight matches without victory.
