Sandra Näslund is not at all pleased with the season last year. She did not find the right feeling in the ride. But even though it didn't really feel good, Sandra finished second in the total, just 44 points behind Swiss winner Fanny Smith. This year, the aim is to go to the final and be at the top of every race.

- It feels much better now in the preseason and there is clearly a better feeling in the riding, says Sandra.

Stronger and faster

She has been running a lot on strength training. Above all, it was a much heavier weight, fewer repetitions focusing on explosiveness.

- I am considerably stronger and in better shape so I hope I can really use it during the season. I have also ridden a lot more ski cross and it feels safe.

The start is the key

There are very few in the World Cup that can match Sandra's starts, she is lightning fast out of the street. This has meant that she can defend a lead to a much greater extent, unlike earlier in her career when it was more about aiming for overtaking in the track

- Yes, nowadays it's a little different because I'm so fast in the ice. In technical lanes it is easier to store the management because then small mistakes are expensive for those behind but if it is lighter lanes with long slides then it is much more difficult for me.

Looking forward to Idre mountain

Last season's worst competition she did in Idre mountains. The two competition days ended with a seventh and a seventh place. It was above all the seventeenth place that cost her the victory in the total.

- I really look forward to the competitions in Idre, with the family and all the audience in place, it's a good atmosphere. After all, it was unfortunate that the worst results came at home. But it will be fun to come back. I am extremely vengeful, says Sandra Näslund.
