Three minutes into the game Ottawa's Scott Sabourin was tackled by Boston's David Backes near the corner. Sabourin fell and hit his head in the ice, where he lay, seemingly unconscious. The players quickly beckoned in to the caretaker and Sabourin received care on the ice for eleven minutes before being carried out on stretcher. He was then conscious and made his thumbs up to the audience.

- It was quite emotional for all of us. I love that guy. We all love him in here. He is a team player and would do anything for anyone and to see him lie down on the ice ... We were all very shaken, says the pitch Mark Boroviecki to nhl.com.

Ottawa then announced on its Twitter that the forward was transported to the local Boston hospital for an evaluation.

- I don't know what the exact injury is, but they will keep him overnight. He was conscious and talking. We know more tomorrow, says trainer DJ Smith.

Boston class

After Sabourin's injury, the game continued and Boston showed class. The team has not lost in nine regular games, and against Ottawa it was 5-2. The chain David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron were again victory organizers, together the three players accounted for three goals and a total of seven points.
