The national student championship, which decides the sumo “Student Yokozuna”, was held in Sakai City, Osaka, and Yasuhiro Nakamura of Nikkatsu University won the championship for the first time in 29 years.
The tournament reached its 97th time, and about 200 people participated in the individual battles that competed in the tournament method, aiming for student Yokozuna.
Nakamura, a first-year student, was the champion of the National Sports Tournament, and was a sumo wrestling with a big physique of 1 meter 93 cm in height and 165 kg in weight.
In the final, we played against Taro Shiro Tanioka, a 4th year student from Kinki University in Osaka, Japan.
It is the first time in 29 years that first-year students shine as a student at Yokozuna.
Nakamura said with a smile, “I was marked by winning the national polity, but it was difficult to do, but I was only thinking about going to the final.
