This summer, Martin Bergström left IFK Umeå.

This week Jonna Sundling, Linn Svahn and Teodor Peterson have in turn made the same decision.

In just a few months, the club has lost four of its best cross country skiers. Sundling and Bergström to Piteå Elit, Svahn to Östersunds SK and Peterson to Sågmyra SK.

- There are various reasons for that. One of the reasons is that they want their own development, which they feel they may not be able to get here. But in essence, we have not been able to offer the same contract as in previous years, says IFK Umeå's chairman Jan Sundman to SVT Västerbotten.

The biggest reason behind the mass flight is spelled economy.

- It certainly has to do with the fact that cash has simply decreased in recent years while revenues have not increased, but there are also personal reasons such as some have longer to travel today.

Sundman goes on to say that IFK Umeå has always been a wide association in the first place and that they will continue to invest in the youth and junior operations.
