The Olympia in Milan was enough with the last quarter. At Barça de Svetislav Pesic, with a Mirotic little less than discreet, it was on this occasion to bow his knee to the whole of Ettore Messina. El Chacho Rodríguez, both in the distribution of the game and with his lethal aim in the triples, was at the end of the whole decisive to catapult the Italian team over the Barcelona players. The Milanese team lived crouched during the first three quarters, when the sensations, not the scoreboard, played more in favor of the visitors and dismembered in the last and final period to inflict on the Catalans an absolutely incontestable defeat, the first one Svetislav Pesic team (83-70) fits this season in Europe.

Ettore Messina opted to reserve both Scola and Chacho Rodríguez from the start. And his entry on the track, precisely, would be essential for the Italian team to finally be able to respond to a club that was beginning to punish its rival very seriously. The Barcelona players, with an immeasurable Davies (11 points in the first quarter), were able to sign a 0-7 in the initial moments that seemed to promise a new whirlwind of those of Pesic. The Catalans, however, lost stuck in the second half of the first period and that allowed Olimpia to squeeze things on the scoreboard almost until the last breath. Abrines, on the horn, finally achieved the first triple of each other, after both contestants erred again and again their pitches from beyond the 6.75 line, to send the game at the end of the first quarter with a 15-20 in favor of Barça.

The blow of Abrines, perhaps, weighed on the shoulders of Olympia at the start of the second period. Those of Pesic were able to leave on the scoreboard nine points away from their rival up to twice. But, again, the entrance of the Chacho, along with two spectacular Nedovic triples, to which Rodriguez himself would also add, allowed the whole of Messina to counteract the Barcelona's arreones until placing the equalizer on the scoreboard (28-28) in the final stretch of the room. Things tightened. Just momentarily. Mirotic, unable to score until just over a minute to rest, would add five points in extremis, with an outside shot and the second triple of Barcelona players, who would eventually allow visitors to leave the locker room with seven points advantage in the luminous (30-37).

And if in the first quarter both Olympia and Barca were virtually denied in the three-point shots, the third was quite the opposite. In the exchange of blows, in addition, the Italian team was able to get ahead for the first time on the scoreboard, in this case, with a contribution more than outstanding from Scola. Mirotic, far from his best version, managed to answer in part the rival attacks, but it was Kuric, however, who revealed himself as a basic player to prevent the thing from getting older with a series of actions as bright as isolated . The Catalans responded with a partial 0-7 to the Milanese push, with Higgins forcing a vital three plus one that would be completed with a great three-shot by Delaney.

The irregularity of the Barca base, despite everything, prevented his team from leaving permanently on the scoreboard, although the improvement in defensive tasks of his also prevented a new Italian reaction. This is where Kuric would appear to encourage his team to leave for the last and final quarter again with an advantage (52-58) that was not enough, at all, to live peacefully at the end of the game. The Olympia, again, matched things again in the luminous (58-58) thanks to the veteran and reliability of Scola, author of five of the six points of the partial favorable to those of Messina. Two consecutive three-pointers from Della Valle, the second of them with Davies hurting on the ground, allowed Messina's to place themselves with a maximum advantage of four points (64-60) just over four minutes before the end of the match, partially cropped by a Barca free kick.

Little did Mirotic squeeze things with a triple after two free throws by Della Valle (66-64). Sergio Rodríguez answered immediately to mark distances for Olympia again. Tomic, in addition, was terribly flawed from the free throw line at the most inopportune moment. Circumstance that would take advantage of the Chacho to assist Micov and open an almost definitive gap (71-64). It didn't help Kuric to score a big triple to tighten things again. Rodriguez, again, and Brooks, with two triples, practically killed the game and sentenced those of Pesic to suffer their first defeat in the Euroleague by a final score clearly favorable to the Italians (83-70).
