It has stormed some around AIK and its audience this year. As a result, the police have already punished the club. In the Europa League qualifier against Moldovan Sheriff, for example, they were given permission to fewer spectators than normal in the section Northern Stå, where the team's heels usually stand during the matches.

It was strongly critical of AIK, and responded by closing the section completely.

"Difficulty in intervening"

Now the police have again given the club permission to fewer spectators than normal. Today, AIK announced that the police reduced the capacity of Norra Stå to 2,500 spectators against Gif Sundsvall in the closing Allsvenskan round on Saturday.

"The reasons are stated to be the use of pyrotechnics, that supporters are in evacuation stairs and difficulties in intervening on site," the club writes on its website.

More tickets sold

However, AIK is critical of the decision, and will now appeal.

"AIK Fotboll will appeal the decision and has taken external legal assistance to implement the appeal," the club writes.

Normally, around 4,000 tickets are usually released to Norra Stå, and now about 3,000 tickets have been sold, which is more than now allowed.

"AIK Fotboll is strongly critical that 500 of our supporters are prevented from going to football in the section where you bought a ticket without any individual punishment (ie entry ban or similar)," writes the club on its website.
